Windmill Days: Rooted in Community, Growing Together

 To me community is an experience that for most has an increased positive mental health, economic development, tourism, educational opportunities, stronger relationships, collaborating on a common goal, and working together to express our community pride! A sense of belonging, trust, safety, and caring are just a few words to describe this community. Community isn’t just Baldwin or Baldwin-Woodville but an inclusion to all those that visit and sometimes stay. I serve on the Windmill Days Committee to continue the tradition of prior volunteers that did the same for me as a child, it’s seeing the families spending time together, the businesses becoming stronger with increased customers, the desire to share Baldwin with other communities, but most of all it’s the smiles on people’s faces! When we cheer for and support each other, we are all stronger together! 

Hello!  I am a homegrown River Falls gal but moved to Baldwin in 2016 and have never regretted my decision.  I joined this awesome group of volunteers who have a strong desire to bring fun and entertain Baldwin.  I am currently on the King's Day Pub Crawl Committee, Sponsorship Committee, Activities Committee and the Chair of the Entertainment Committee - which brings you all of the live music to entertain you during our celebration.  I am proud to be showing my two boys how important it is to be involved with helping and supporting the town we live in.   My pup Jax is often out joining me at events and loves all the love and attention!

 Hello!  I am a Baldwin girl through and through!  I am mostly Dutch. I live just outside of Baldwin with my husband Jeff on the farm where we have raised our four daughters. 

I have been with Windmill Days since the beginning and currently serve as the treasurer of Windmill Days.  I also support our marketing/sponsorship and activities committees as needed.  I have so many great memories of past "Let's Go Dutch Days"" and I am loving what our small committee is bringing to Windmill Days.

 Born and raised Baldwin girl here!  Grandpa G always said "if you ain't Dutch, you ain't much"!  While we know that's not necessarily true..Gramps  sure enjoyed when I would say that to my other Gramps who was 100% Norwegian!

I love the community I grew up in and remember past celebrations that would fill our streets with people and events.  Being able to represent my town as Miss Baldwin gave me so much and now being able to again serve my community with Windmill Days is a real honor. 

I am beyond excited to help create a celebration that will bring our community together and celebrate all that is wonderful and makes up our amazing community.  During my time I have met so many of you and so many business owners and it only keeps reminding me of how truly wonderful Baldwin is.  I look forward to seeing each and every one of you at Windmill Days!  Proost!

Hi All!  I am Jen!  I am not a Baldwin native, but I have lived here for 16 years and now call it home. I joined the Windmill Days Committee in August 2021 to be more involved in the community, and, oh boy, did that happen!  I am on the King's Day Pub Crawl committee and was recently added to the activities committee.  I have enjoyed being a member of the committee and meeting so many new people in the  community!  I look forward to more years of fun! 

 Living out my younger days in Iowa and graduating high school in Bloomington Minnesota, I came to Baldwin over 25 years ago and have called it my home.  It is where I have been proud to live with my wife Angie and raise our 3 girls.  

Some may know me from my days as "Jimmy" at North Meets South but as for Windmill Days I am "Ollie the Operations Guy." My role is to ensure that we have tents, stages, parade markers, and so much more!  Windmill Days provides activities for everyone in the community and I am proud to be a part of this small group that makes this all happen every year.  I look forward to seeing you all at Windmill Days!

Small town born and raised in Northeast Iowa. I just could not get away from the small town vibes. I moved to Baldwin in fall of 2022 and have passionately looked forward to Windmill Day’s each year. I am  happy that I have landed in another wonderful small town. I joined Windmill Days to get more aquatinted with such valuable community members. I enjoy cultivating a celebration that is such a staple for everyone in this community of all ages that everyone looks forward to! A common Dutch saying that I think we all can agree on is Oost west, thuis best (East, west, home is best).  You will find me on the Operations team, part of the parade crew, being creative in marketing and sponsorship - and serving you a beverage at the beer tent - hope to see you at Windmill Days! 

 Hello! I was born and raised in Michigan and made my way to Baldwin in 2013, where I quickly fell in love with the charm and sense of community that small-town life brings. My husband and I live just north of town with our two children.

As a mom, I truly value events that are both free and safe for families, which is what inspired me to join the Baldwin Windmill Days Committee.  I’m proud to help ensure this wonderful celebration continues for today’s families and future generations.

I currently serve on the Merchant Vendor Committee and am excited to see the amazing vendors joining us this year.  I look forward to meeting more members of our community and can’t wait to see you at this year’s Baldwin Windmill Days!

 Growing up in Baldwin has been an amazing experience.  My Grandpa G was 100% Dutch, which makes Baldwin’s strong Dutch heritage feel even more special to me.  I completed all my schooling here and was honored to serve as Baldwin Royalty as 3rd Princess.

Windmill Days is a wonderful representation of the community I love — a celebration that truly offers something for everyone during festival weekend.  I’m proud to give back to my hometown once again.

I’m excited to serve on the Parade Crew, helping bring an action-packed parade to life each year, and as part of the Operations Crew. 

 I moved to Baldwin in 2001, never imagining I’d still be here more than 20 years later.  But this little village has a way of capturing your heart.  The people, the friendships, and the connections I’ve made have truly turned Baldwin into home.  It has also been a wonderful place to raise my family.

That’s what inspired me to join the Windmill Days committee — to get more involved and give back to a community that means so much to me.  Windmill Days is an event I love, and I’m thrilled to work alongside such an incredible group of volunteers.

You’ll find me on the Operations Team, working with the parade crew, exploring fresh ideas on the Activities Team, and bringing in fun new bands through the Entertainment Committee.

I have been a Baldwin resident for over 20 years.  I didn’t travel far, as I’m originally from Woodville. I have been a part of the Windmill Days Committee since January of 2025 as I was looking for a way to get more involved in my community as my kids headed off to college. You will find me on the parade and volunteer committees, helping with the kickball tournament and behind the bar serving drinks. It has been so much fun working with this creative group to bring you a weekend full of entertainment! We live here, work here and want to play here, too! Hope to see you at Windmill Days!
